If you read my tweets, you know that today's conference presented huge disappointments on the muffin front. I should have saved that graphic for today's post. No muffins for me (thanks, Meg, for offering to send me some).
I got to see Tom Daschle, but I was so hungry by lunchtime that I forgot everything he said. That's not entirely true - I took notes but don't feel like regurgitating them now - but I was really, REALLY hungry. Especially when my food safety thing lasted four hours.
I was impressed by Margaret Hamburg's composure in her first hearing as FDA commissioner. Rep. John Dingell gave her the treatment (which should really have a name. Dingellized her?), and she didn't get flustered. He talks so fast when he's doing his "Just answer yes or no" bit.
But my favorite part was when Dingell said he's introduced food-safety legislation so many times in the past that it's "almost old enough to vote." He's got gumption.

I feel like "she got Dingelled" or even "Dingelled around" works well. Sorry bout the muffins.
