Go see Up

Animated movie fans (aka Hank), go see Up. It was totally worth the ridiculous price of even a student ticket in DC. To give you a sense of my feeling about it, it was definitely better than Wall-E, which I really did love but didn't quite get all the hype.

I'm hesitant to compare it to my standard meter, Finding Nemo, because I probably laughed harder at FN the first time, but this one was a better mix of sad and sweet and silly. As was Happy Feet, but Up is much funnier and lacks the preachy message. (Plus I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who really loves Happy Feet - biased because of the tap dancing.)

Mom, you will love this little gem that I didn't notice until the credits start rolling: Captain Von Trapp voices the bad guy! We LOVE him. Always.

I'll have to wait til December for my next piece of elementary school excitement: The Princess and the Frog. I'm such a Disney princess geek. Not sure how I feel about a princess tale set in New Orleans ... that could be iffy or AWESOME.
